Investment objective
West Butte Investments is an investment holding company structured as a closed-ended fund principally engaged in acquiring ownership interests in a concentrated portfolio of public and private businesses. We seek to invest in companies with durable competitive advantages, exceptional management teams, strong balance sheets, and the ability to generate attractive returns on capital over the long term.
Our investment philosophy is risk-averse in nature. We seek opportunities where market prices diverge meaningfully from intrinsic value, allowing us to invest with a margin of safety. We focus on investments with asymmetric risk-return characteristics, where the potential for long-term appreciation outweighs the risk of permanent capital impairment.
